Onchain advisory
Keep control, and coordinate the full onchain picture.
Protocol Wealth advises, monitors, and reports on selected onchain activity within an agreed engagement — without requiring transfer into a Protocol Wealth-controlled wallet.
Wallet paths
Three ways to keep control
The right path depends on the client, the assets, and the advisory agreement. Turnkey and Fordefi are wallet infrastructure, not qualified custodians. Independent qualified custody is described on the qualified custody page.
Existing wallets
Clients can keep existing wallets where the advisory engagement and selected scope permit. Protocol Wealth can monitor and report on selected wallet addresses without requiring transfer into a Protocol Wealth-controlled wallet. That monitoring path does not mean every wallet can support discretionary execution.
Turnkey
The client’s own self-custodial wallet in the client portal, offered first to selected clients. The client is its sole owner and signs with a passkey. Protocol Wealth does not receive private keys or independently move funds.
Fordefi
Fordefi supports institutional MPC and policy-controlled wallet arrangements. Activity is bounded by client-approved destinations, rules, limits, and approvers. Protocol Wealth cannot expand the allowlist or move assets to itself.
Protocol Wealth is not a qualified custodian. It is deemed to have custody because it is authorized to deduct its advisory fees from many client accounts. In a Fordefi wallet, Fordefi holds one key shard and Protocol Wealth holds one; the client holds the ultimate backup.
Process
How the work proceeds
Five steps, in order. Scope and human review sit around the reporting system.
Define scope
Agree which wallets, chains, and activities belong in the advisory engagement. Scope is engagement-specific.
Evaluate risks
Review the protocol, smart-contract, operational, custody, and reporting risks that apply to the selected scope.
Configure controls
Set permissions, destinations, rules, limits, and approvers on the wallet path in use, with client approval where those controls apply.
Retain observations
Capture dated wallet and position evidence within the advisor-selected scope so later reporting can rest on retained records.
Review and report
Human review determines what is relevant to the client statement. The statement is assembled from retained evidence, not from a live screen.
Vault research
Surfacing information is not a recommendation
vaults.fyi is a public research and catalog input used to surface and compare vault information. Its catalog is refreshed periodically.
Surfacing a vault is not a recommendation or automatic approval. Approved strategies and destinations remain engagement-specific.
Reporting
From wallet evidence to an onchain statement
Protocol Wealth's onchain reporting uses retained, dated evidence rather than a live-screen estimate. Scheduled observations support daily history and reduce later backfills.
Evidence sources
- EVM token and protocol-position observations from DeBank within advisor-selected wallet and chain scope
- Read-only explorer and RPC checks where needed
- Solana RPC/Jupiter and recognized staking and liquid-staking position sources
- Bitcoin address and UTXO evidence
What the statement can show
- Beginning and ending values
- Material holdings and protocol positions
- Staking and yield evidence
- Selected period activity
- Identified onchain advisory fees
- Retained reference prices, sources, and disclosures
The client statement is supplemental account reporting. It is not a tax return, tax-lot/cost-basis report, qualified-custodian statement, performance guarantee, or complete description of every possible onchain position. Advisor-defined scope and human review determine what is relevant.
Roles
Who does what
Client
Keeps control of the wallet path in use: permissions, recovery, deposits, withdrawals, and approval of destinations, rules, limits, and approvers. Existing wallets remain in place only where the engagement and selected scope permit.
Advisor
Defines scope, evaluates risks, and reviews what belongs on the client statement. Advisor-defined scope and human review determine what is relevant.
Reporting system
Retains dated observations and supports the client-facing statement from that evidence. Internal diagnostics remain separate from client-facing reporting.
